Laurie Nelson is a Licensed Professional Counselor with a passion for teaching her clients new skills for coping and managing the day-to-day stresses of life. Laurie works with both adults and teens. Coming from a place of authenticity and kindness with each person she meets, Laurie’s mission is to help build a genuine connection where clients can feel safe and explore situations that may be contributing to feelings of current "stuckness," and learn to heal and thrive in all areas of their lives.

Laurie specializes in grief and trauma and welcomes individuals from all walks of life. She takes a solution-focused and person-centered approach to empower her client’s individual strengths to develop strategies for growth and healing. Providing transparency and inclusiveness, Laurie collaborates with clients to challenge their prior narratives that no longer serve them in order to live more authentically and explore their lives with a sense of curiosity and compassion.

After serving and supporting others in public education for 30 years, Laurie now fulfills her
passion for people through therapy, guiding and helping people wherever they are in their life
journey. She enjoys helping individuals feel a sense of empowerment and ability to shape their own worlds in a way that feels best for them while offering them compassion and empathy.

Laurie earned her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northern Arizona University. She enjoys playing card and board games, spending quality time with family, reading a good book on a rainy day, or spending time outside taking in the beautiful Arizona scenery.
